In 1976 EH Butland Corp. began in the real estate development business constructing single family tract houses, condominiums, apartments and commercial/retail centers. In the late 70’s, in an attempt to diversify, the company built twenty-one restaurants coast to coast. During this same year, E.H. Butland Development Corp. was introduced to the medical construction industry and completed several CT, x-ray and R/F diagnostic rooms at several southern California hospitals and clinics. In 1983 the company expanded to acute care facility renovations and by the mid eighties was specializing in hospital additions, hospital remodels, outpatient imaging centers, outpatient surgery centers and skilled nursing facilities.
